Benefit is one of my fave beauty brands and High Beam highlighter is one of my favorites. It’s all about the shimmer. This liquid illuminator comes in a soft pink hue that flatters all skintones. It softly reflects light for an instant spotlight effect, plus gives skin a dewy finish. The only downfall to High Beam is the $26 price tag. Without further adieu, meet Elf Shimmering Facial Whip in Lilac Petal.
Elf Shimmering Facial Whip in Lilac Petal is as close to a complete replica of High Beam as you can get. The color is the same, the amount of shimmer is the same and it only costs...wait for it...$1. Yep, I said it $1.
The verdict is simple, save $25 and get the ELF version, you will not be disappointed. One Haute Mommy gives Elf Shimmers Facial Whip in Lilac Petal an A+.

The Daily Dupe: MAC Pretty Please Lipstick
The newest addition to One Haute Mommy is the Daily Dupe, a post dedicated to saving beauty-a-holics, like myself, money without sacrificing quality. "Dupe" is short for duplicate and in the beauty world dupes are products that are very similar in appearance and almost always have a wallet-friendly price tag.
Hello Beauties! I am always looking for a good lipstick dupe and today I have found a dupe for MAC's Pretty Please Lipstick. Pretty Please is described by MAC as a pale pearl pink. Pretty Please is a semi-sheer lipstick with a wet looking finish. MAC Pretty Please will set you back $15.
May I introduce Revlon Sky Line Pink lipstick, it is a great dupe for MAC's Pretty Please. Revlon's Sky Line Pink is a limited edition shade that was released in the 2011 Fall Expressionists collection. Sky Line Pink is a bit more frosty than MAC's Pretty Please lipstick but it is not enough to be noticeable. Revlon Sky Link Pink will only set you back $7.49. You can pick up Revlon's Sky Line Pink at Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart and all drug stores.
Honestly, this dupe is to close to even tell a difference between the shades, don't let the pictures above fool you. One Haute Mommy gives Revlon Sky Line Pink lipstick an A+.

The Daily Dupe: NARS Albatross
The newest addition to One Haute Mommy is the Daily Dupe, a post dedicated to saving beauty-a-holics, like myself, money without sacrificing quality. "Dupe" is short for duplicate and in the beauty world dupes are products that are very similar in appearance and almost always have a wallet-friendly price tag.
Nars Albatross is a highlighting blush known for its silky texture and golden hue. NARS Albatross creates instant radiance, is a universal flattering shade so it looks great on every skin tone and is made with transparent pigments to avoid heaviness on the skin. NARS Albatross can be worn alone or paired with another blush to create dimension on the face. I cannot rave enough about NARS Albatross and the only downfall is the $29 price tag. Without further adieu, meet ELF Gotta Glow.
ELF Gotta Glow is also a beautiful golden highlighter. ELF Gotta Glow is very similar to NARS Albatross but it takes a couple of extra coats to achieve the same look as NARS Albatross. ELF Gotta Glow is not as silky as NARS, but it also is very light feeling on the skin. Elf Gotta Glow can be worn alone or paired with another shade to create more depth. ELF Gotta Glow will highlight your complexion creating a subtle healthy glow and is also suitable for all skin tones. Elf Gotta Glow will only set you back $3.
The verdict, although I love NARS Albatross, ELF Gotta Glow can give you the same look for $26 dollars less. You just need a few extra coats and the texture is still silky and lightweight. One Haute Mommy gives ELF Gotta Glow an A.

The Daily Dupe: Mac Studio Fix Foundation
The newest addition to One Haute Mommy is the Daily Dupe, a post dedicated to saving beauty-a-holics, like myself, money without sacrificing quality. "Dupe" is short for duplicate and in the beauty world dupes are products that are very similar in appearance and almost always have a wallet-friendly price tag.
I love MAC! MAC is definitely one of my favorite cosmetic brands and I own many of their products. MAC Studio Fix is a liquid foundation that provides great coverage, lasts all day and when applied correctly will give you a flawless complexion. The only downfall to MAC is the $27 price tag. Without further adieu meet Revlon Colorstay.
Revlon Colorstay is a full coverage foundation that can be purchased at most drugstores (Walgreens and CVS) as well as Wal-Mart and Target. Like Mac, it is a liquid foundation that offers a wide range of shades. Revlon Colorstay is a great alternative to MAC Studio Fix and will only set you back $10.
MAC Studio Fix and Revlon Colorstay are full coverage foundations, both include SPF 15 and offer a wide range of shades that include both warm and cool undertones and are packaged similarly (both in a glass tube with no pump). The main differences that I noticed are Revlon Colorstay is a bit thinner than MAC Studio Fix and Revlon dries faster which means you have less time to work with it. I recommend using a damp makeup sponge to apply Revlon Colorstay.
I still love the MAC Studio Fix because I prefer having time to work with my foundation, but Revlon Colorstay is a great alternative if you are looking for something similar to MAC minus the hefty price tag.

The Daily Dupe: Urban Decay De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray
The newest addition to One Haute Mommy is the Daily Dupe, a post dedicated to saving beauty-a-holics, like myself, money without sacrificing quality. "Dupe" is short for duplicate and in the beauty world dupes are products that are very similar in appearance and almost always have a wallet-friendly price tag.
Urban Decay De-Slick is an oil-control makeup setting spray. It is meant to be applied after your makeup routine to keep your makeup in place and help control oil throughout the day. It is a great product and works wonders for those with oily skin. I have combination skin so I love this product because it keeps me shine free and my makeup lasts for hours and hours. The only downfall to Urban Decay De-Slick is the price tag, $14 for a 1oz. bottle and $29 for a 4oz. bottle. Without further adieu, meet NYX Matte Finish Makeup Setting Spray.
NYX Matte Finish Makeup Setting Spray works the same as Urban Decay's De-Slick, just a few sprays after your makeup routine and you are all set, literally! I love the NYX doesn't use cheap packaging like other dupes do. NYX Mate Finish Makeup Setting Spray will only set you back $8 for a 2.03oz. bottle. One Haute Mommy gives it an A+.
As always it is up to you to decide. Both products work great in my opinion.

The Daily Dupe: Makeup Forever HD Microfinish Powder
The newest addition to One Haute Mommy is the Daily Dupe, a post dedicated to saving beauty-a-holics, like myself, money without sacrificing quality. "Dupe" is short for duplicate and in the beauty world dupes are products that are very similar in appearance and almost always have a wallet-friendly price tag.
Finishing powder is one of the most important steps to a flawless makeup routine. Finishing powder sets your foundation and also helps absorb excess oil. Makeup Forever makes one of the best finishing powders that I have used, HD Microfinish Powder. Makeup Forever HD Microfinish powder is made of 100% silica that is finely milled. Makeup Forever HD Microfinish Powder has one drawback, it costs $32 for a 10 gram jar. Ouch! Meet Coastal Scents 100% Silica Spheres.
I know, the name does not sound as appealing, however it is exactly the same thing. Coastal Scents 1 oz jar of Silica Spheres costs less than $5 and you get 3 times as much product. Seriously you cannot go wrong with this purchase. The only drawback to the silica spheres is the container, it's large and can be messy. Coastal Scents sells sifter jars that vary in size starting around $.75 so I suggest purchasing one so you can avoid the mess.
This decision is a no-brainer. Coastal Scents is definitely the way to go. One jar of Coastal Scents and a sifter jar will set you back approximately $6 plus shipping which is equivalent to 3 jars of the Makeup Forever HD Microfinish powder which costs $32 each ($96 total). You can save a total of $90 by purchasing the Coastal Scents, a 90% savings for the exact same product! The choice is yours, but One Haute Mommy gives Coastal Scents Silica Spheres an A+!

The Daily Dupe: Stila Kitten
The newest addition to One Haute Mommy is the Daily Dupe, a post dedicated to saving beauty-a-holics, like myself, money without sacrificing quality. "Dupe" is short for duplicate and in the beauty world dupes are products that are very similar in appearance and almost always have a wallet-friendly price tag.
Stila Kitten is definitely one of the most versatile eyeshadow shades on the market. It enhances any eye color, skin tone, it can be used for natural and glamorous looks as well as any makeup look in between. Stila Kitten is also great when used as a highlighter. Stila Kitten is a neutral champagne shade with just the right amount of shimmer. I love Stila Kitten and use it all the time, the only downfall to Stila Kitten is the $18 price tag. Without further adieu, meet Loreal Infallible Iced Latte.
The pictures are not the greatest but Loreal Infallible Iced Latte is an exact replica of Stila Kitten. The shimmer is the same as well as the shade when applied. Most "dupes" do not have the staying power of the name brand, but Loreal Infallible does. Best part, Loreal Infallible Iced Latte will only set you back $7.
This choice comes down to preference, name brand of drug store brand, because the shades are identical. The staying power is the same as well as the amount of product needed is the same.

The Daily Dupe: Urban Decay Primer Potion
The newest addition to One Haute Mommy is the Daily Dupe, a post dedicated to saving beauty-a-holics, like myself, money without sacrificing quality. "Dupe" is short for duplicate and in the beauty world dupes are products that are very similar in appearance and almost always have a wallet-friendly price tag.
Using a primer for eyeshadow makes all the difference. Primer enhances the eyeshadow so you end up using less product, achieve a more vibrant shade without creasing and it ensures that your shadow lasts all day. Urban Decay Primer Potion is by far the legend of eyeshadow primers. Urban Decay Primer Potion is well known for its silky feel and ability to make even cheap eyeshadow last all day without creasing. I have been using Urban Decay Primer Potion for years and I am absolutely in love with the product. The only drawback to Urban Decay Primer Potion is the $20 price tag. Without further adieu, welcome NYX HD Eyeshadow base.
NYX HD Eyeshadow Base, not to be confused with NYX Eyeshadow base in the little white tub, is an excellent dupe for Urban Decay Primer Potion. The main difference is that NYX HD Eyeshadow Base goes on a bit wetter, therefore it needs a little bit more setting time before applying shadow. NYX HD Eyeshadow Base only comes in one shade, whereas Urban Decay Primer Potion comes in 4 shades. NYX HD Eyeshadow Base is available at Ulta for the wallet friendly price of $7. Ulta often times has coupons so chances are you will get it even cheaper!
The verdict: If you want amazing looking eyes and want to save some money definitely get the NYX HD Eyeshadow Base, the difference between the two is miniscule and you will save a whopping $13. With that said, Urban Decay Primer Potion is still an icon in my book, but I love to save money and NYX HD Eyeshadow Base gives me the same coverage for a lot less.

The Daily Dupe: NARS Orgasm
The newest addition to One Haute Mommy is the Daily Dupe, a post dedicated to saving beauty-a-holics, like myself, money without sacrificing quality. "Dupe" is short for duplicate and in the beauty world dupes are products that are very similar in appearance and almost always have a wallet-friendly price tag.
NARS blush in the shade orgasm is an icon in the beauty world. NARS Orgasm is well known for its ability to suit all skin tones and its satiny feel. Orgasm is described as a peachy pink with subtle gold shimmer. It lasts forever, can be worn with several different makeup looks, and is easy to travel with. The only drawback is the $29 price tag. Without further adieu I would like to introduce you to NYX Pinched, described as a coral pink with gold glitter.
NYX Pinched is a very close dupe for NARS Orgasm. The biggest difference is that NARS Orgasm is a bit more shimmery than NYX Pinched and Pinched is not as satiny as Orgasm. Pinched is a bit cooler than Orgasm, but if you add an extra coat, the shades are as close to identical as you can get and NYX Pinched will only set you back $4.99.
Basically it all comes down to whether or not you want to splurge for the iconic NARS nifty packaging and satiny feel or if you're willing to give that up for the $24 in savings and very subtle difference between the shades.
